St. George’s Cathedral

St. George’s Cathedral is a historic Ethiopian Orthodox church in the heart of Addis Ababa, renowned for its distinctive octagonal architecture and connection to Ethiopia’s royal history. Built in 1911, the cathedral commemorates Ethiopia’s victory at the Battle of Adwa. It features colorful religious artwork, mosaics, historic artifacts, and a museum, and served as a coronation site for Ethiopian emperors.
