Place de l’Amazone

Place de l’amazone is a major public landmark on Boulevard de la Marina in Cotonou, centered around the monumental Amazon statue. The 30-meter bronze-clad monument honors the Amazons of Danxomè, the historic elite female warriors of the Kingdom of Dahomey. The landscaped esplanade also provides Atlantic Ocean views and is an important cultural and public gathering space.
