Monument de la Renaissance

The African Renaissance Monument is a monumental bronze/copper statue standing on one of Dakar’s Mamelles hills. Inaugurated on 3 April 2010, it depicts a man holding a woman and child while facing toward the Atlantic. At about 52 metres high, it is one of Dakar’s most recognizable landmarks and offers panoramic views over the city and ocean.
