Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC, is a massive, rapidly growing megacity. Economically, it’s the country’s hub, accounting for a disproportionately large share of the DRC’s GDP (around 85% in a 2020 estimate), driven by a mix of manufacturing, telecommunications, banking, and entertainment, and it benefits from the country’s vast mineral wealth, particularly copper and cobalt.
