Jardin des Plantes et de la Nature Porto-Novo

Jardin des Plantes et de la Nature (JPN) is a historic botanical garden and cultural landscape in central Porto-Novo. It originated as a sacred forest of the Hogbonou kingdom and was partly transformed into an experimental garden in 1895 during the colonial period. Today, it preserves old trees, medicinal and food plants, traditional cultural heritage and a green refuge in the city.
