Hassan Tower

Hassan Tower is one of Rabat’s most famous historical landmarks and an unfinished 12th-century Almohad minaret. Commissioned by Sultan Yaqub al-Mansour, it was intended to form part of a huge mosque project. Today, the 44-metre red sandstone tower stands among the remains of the mosque, beside the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and forms part of Rabat’s UNESCO World Heritage heritage.
