Gurara Dam

Gurara Dam is a major multipurpose water infrastructure project on the Gurara River in Kaduna State, Nigeria, approximately 75 kilometres from Abuja. The reservoir was developed primarily to transfer raw water to Lower Usuma Dam for Abuja’s water supply. The wider project also supports irrigation, hydropower, fisheries and tourism development, surrounded by scenic hills and savannah landscapes.
