District Six

District 6 is a historic inner-city area of Cape Town, remembered for its diverse community and the forced removals carried out during apartheid. Today, the area is an important heritage and cultural site, with the District Six Museum preserving residents’ memories, photographs, maps, oral histories and stories of displacement.
