Barumbu historic district

Barumbu is one of Kinshasa’s oldest communes and a historic urban area dating from the early 20th century. Developed alongside Lingwala and the commune of Kinshasa as an early African residential settlement, it retains historic architecture and traditional neighborhoods. Today, Barumbu combines its heritage with busy markets, small businesses, street commerce and important sites including Ndolo Airport.
