Chellah

Chellah is a historic archaeological site and medieval necropolis in Rabat, Morocco, built on the remains of the ancient Roman city of Sala Colonia. The site contains Roman ruins, Marinid-era tombs, a mosque and decorated minaret, fortified walls, gardens and the famous eel pool. Its layered history and architecture make it one of Rabat’s important heritage landmarks.
