Listing Description

The Roman Theatre at Kom El Dikka is a well-preserved ancient Roman-era performance and assembly complex in central Alexandria. Built and developed during the Roman and Byzantine periods, it features 13 tiers of marble seating, mosaic-lined areas and distinctive acoustics. Archaeological research suggests it served cultural, educational and civic purposes rather than functioning solely as a conventional theatre.
